The Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA) announces the Emerging Tech Forum 2026, to be held on December 17, 2026, at the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, within the framework of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre (HCCC) project.
The HCCC project is supported by the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) and co-funded by the European Union and the Greek Government under the “Competitiveness” Program.
The Emerging Tech Forum is the annual flagship event of Greece’s microelectronics and deep-tech ecosystem. This year’s edition will focus on the opportunities arising from the EU Chips Act, Greece’s growing role in Europe’s semiconductor value chain, and the development of innovative enterprises and investments that strengthen European technological sovereignty.
Forum Themes and Highlights
The programme will focus on four key thematic areas:
HCCC in Action – Moving from Strategy to Silicon: Greek national microelectronics strategy and incentives/funding
Following the HCCC’s action plan presented last year, this year, the ecosystem is ready to see the practical traction. This session will focus on the tangible services now available to Greek SMEs and startups.
Dual-Use Tech & Strategic Autonomy (Defense & Space)
Given Greece’s strategic geographical location with the momentum from the national small satellite program, and deep tech for defense and aerospace, remains a premier area for growth and funding.
The Intersection of Edge AI, Physical AI and Next-Gen Security
As generative AI matures, the heavy computation is moving rapidly from massive cloud data centers to the edge. This is a massive competitive advantage area for HETiA members specializing in low-power embedded systems and smart sensors.
The Deep Tech Talent Pipeline, Tech Transfer & Funding Strategies
At the HCCC Activation Days, workforce upskilling and research commercialization emerged as major talking points. A sustainable ecosystem requires a steady bridge between academic talent and targeted funding strategies, in line with other European countries, involving state funding tools, angel funding incentives and venture capital.
