The National Chips Competence Centre for Greece

The Hellenic Chips Competence Centre (HCCC) is a non-profit partnership formed to advance the Greek and European semiconductor ecosystem in alignment to the strategic goals of the EU Chips Act. Coordinated by Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA), the consortium includes top Greek research institutes, universities, scientific and industry stakeholders.

Vision

To position Greece as a key contributor to the European semiconductor industry, fostering innovation, nurturing high-tech talent and promoting collaboration between industry, research and academia, by advancing microcircuits including new microprocessors, evolving current semiconductors and enabling more sophisticated devices with advanced sensing, actuation and communications.

Mission

To strengthen the value chains within electronic systems and components—particularly for startups and SMEs—by facilitating the adoption and integration of semiconductor technologies through comprehensive training, technology transfer initiatives, access to design platform and pilot production lines, and venture capital matchmaking.

Our Objectives

  • Promote innovation in analog, mixed-signal, RF, photonics, AI, sensors, and low-power chips
  • Strengthening the workforce with upskilling and reskilling programs
  • Offer access to advanced infrastructure and design platforms
  • Accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes

Our organization’s structure

Governance

The Executive Board addresses all critical issues about the operation of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre. Consists of 9 members proposed by Partners’ Categories via elections within their category. Holds ordinary and extraordinary meetings.

The Operations office supports the day-to-day management activities and administration for the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre, under the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre Manager, as appointed by the Executive Board.

The Partners resolutions take place in the Partners Meetings.
Decides on all critical issues about the structure, organization and terms of partnership, including partnership duration, renewal or termination, partners exit, new partners approval, in ordinary or extraordinary Partners Meetings.
